Care of Glass
Our glass products are designed for most outdoor weather conditions. Glass is not harmed by cold weather, snow or rain. Our colors are permanent and do not fade over time or in sunshine.
Our glass icicles and icicle lights are designed for year round weather. Our flowers can be kept outside as long as they are displayed at an angle so water will not collect and feeze inside the flower.
Our fountains can also be left outside as long as leaves and debris do not clog the drainage hole in the center of the piece. One of our clients left her fountain running in freezing weather and sent us the following photo of the glass covered in icicles. All of the pieces shown are still in her garden and providing soothing water sounds year round.
What causes most glass to crack is freezing water in contained spaces. For this reason I do not recommend leaving pond floats in your water containers over the winter months. The floats can be taken out of your pond or container and left on the ground outside during the winter without damage. Also our hanging vases should not be left outside with water in them in freezing weather.
In hot weather climates we do not recommend placing our glass in areas where sprinkler systems are in effect. If the glass is in a hot, sunny location and is hit with cold water, the glass will likely shatter from thermal shock.
Keeping these suggestions in mind your glass should provide you with years of enjoyment in your garden.
